Construction Engineer

Summer Seasonal Laborer
The Livingston County Road Commission (LCRC) is seeking qualified 
applicants for the position of Summer Seasonal Laborer to assist our Operations Department for the summer of 2024.  Students will work alongside our maintenance crew to preform flagging operations to direct traffic through construction zones using handheld signs in addition to barricades and cones to keep motorists, pedestrians, and our crews safe. The employee will also assist with pothole filling, dragging brush and trimming, and other preventative maintenance activities.

Requirements:
•  Must be 18 years of age or older.
•  Possess a valid Michigan Driver’s License.
•  Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and physical.
•  Ability to stand for long periods of time and remain attentive to traffic conditions.
•  Physical ability to work in extreme weather conditions and other environmental extremes in a moving work zone.
•  Available to work LCRC summer hours Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Highway Worker 1– Starting wage is $25.68 per hour. Shift hours are 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday – Friday. An employee in this position performs manual labor in the operation of light to heavy-duty trucks and motorized equipment to repair and maintain primary/local roads and right-of-way.

Night Mechanic A – Afternoon Shift. Starting wage is $29.50 per hour. Shift hours are 3:30 pm to 12:00 am Monday – Friday. Under direct supervision of the Equipment Supervisor, Mechanic A maintains and repairs all Road Commission equipment as directed. Equipment includes light vehicles, motor graders, loaders, backhoes, and heavy trucks.
