Permits

The Permits Office processes several different types of permits. A permit is required any time you perform work within the road right of way ( MCL 224.19).  This includes permits for driveways, road approaches, utility construction and etc. Additionally, any oversize or overweight loads  or vehicles require a special permit from the Road Commission.

The process includes the review of permit applications and plans submitted by property owners, truckers, developers, public utility companies, and local units of government, as well as issuance of permits and on-site inspections.
