Asphalt Specialist Inc. is the Qualified Low Bidder for the road rehabilitation on Barron Country Meadows Subdivision. The Contractor is scheduled to begin work on the road the week of June 21, 2010, weather permitting of course.

The Contractor will begin by crushing and re-grading the existing asphalt roadway. This process will temporarily turn the road back to a gravel-like surface. You will be able to drive on this material, but be cautious, since it could be bumpy in areas prior to final grading. This surface may also be dusty at times, please be patient. The contractor will be placing the Hot Mix Asphalt within 48 hours of crushing and shaping, weather permitting.

It is critical that all residents follow the direction of the traffic control personnel during construction. You may experience short delays during construction, so give yourself a little extra time to make appointments on these days. The Asphalt will be blended in to match existing drives. Asphalt millings or natural aggregate will be placed at the edge of the pavement where the edge of the asphalt pavement is higher than existing lawns after the HMA is placed.

Residents must keep all sprinklers off that may reach or cause drainage into the roadway during construction. This could severely compromise the quality of road construction your township millage is paying for. Any sprinklers within 5 feet of the edge of existing pavement should be pulled up or at minimum identify them with a flag. The contractor will take every precaution not to damage them, but we cannot be responsible for damaged sprinklers, invisible fencing, landscaping, etc…within the road right of way.

Any mailboxes that are in the way of paving will be temporarily moved and reset by the contractor. Garbage pick up may need to be rescheduled during the paving phases of construction to protect your investment.

We will be placing wood stakes in your yards, which are offsets stakes from the center of the road so we can put the road back where it belongs. Please do not remove them until after the first course of asphalt is complete.

Again, please follow the direction of the traffic control personnel for your safety and theirs. We appreciate your patience and cooperation in advance.

Motorist are advised to except delays and to avoid to area if possible. This projection is expected to run until the end of August 2010.
